I was born in Alwafaeia village - El-Behera –Egypt, 29th of April 1946. My primary, preparatory and secondary school studies were in El-Behara, after which I joined Cairo University in 1965, and I was graduated in 1969.
I had my B.Sc. degree with honor in Chemistry. I was then appointed as a demonstrator in the Chemistry Department in 1969. I was awarded M.Sc. degree in Analytical Chemistry from Cairo University in 1972. It was entitled “Analytical applications involving back titration of excess EDTA or iodide by mercury (II)” and was supervised by: late Prof. DR. H.A. Khalifa (D.Sc.) and Prof. Dr. M.M. Khater. My Ph.D. degree was also awarded from Cairo University in 1975. It deals with “Physicochemical studies on complexes of acetoacetanilide and acetylacetone derivatives with some transition metals”, and was supervised by: late Prof. DR. H.A. Khalifa (D.Sc.) and Prof. Dr. M.M. Khater.
I was appointed as assistant lecturer at 1972, a lecturer at 1975, an assistant Professor at 1981 and as a Professor of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry at 1987 till now in Chemistry Department, Cairo University.
